How To Prevent Insect Infiltration With Halo

To help protect against termites in high infestation areas (which are generally concentrated in the Southeast USA) Halo® Subterra® and Exterra® products are available from our plants in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kansas with foam cores treated with Preventol, which adds a secondary layer of defense against termites.

Halo products treated with Preventol are identified with the suffix “TK” and are typically available on a special-order basis and are usually priced at a 6% premium over regular Halo products.

The Preventol treatments are made in very low parts per 1000 and thus Halo TK products are do not pose any off-gassing risks from this treatment.

Additionally, all Halo products can be protected from general insect infiltration with the use of bug screen detailing, and here are some typical examples of this practice:

Remember Halo TK products are a secondary layer – and primary prevention measures such as termite treatments around the perimeter of the home should still be employed.
